Dr. Badyaev Wins Prestigious Dobzhansky Prize



Dr. Alexander Badyaev, postdoctoral fellow at Auburn University, was selected as a recipient of the 2001 Dobzhansky Prize by the International Society for the Study of Evolution.


The Dobzhansky Prize is considered the most prestigious award to young evolutionary biologists. Only one person is selected for the honor each year from a pool which includes young scientists from the U.S., England, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.


Dr. Badyaev's research is on the evolution of sexual dimorphism in birds, focusing on the mechanisms of evolutionary change. -UM Focus (April-May)
