Dana Seaman and Ernesto Acevedo Ubarte were married on December 28, 2004, on the Correcamino Ranch outside of Clayton, New Mexico. Congratulations!!

Terri Hamstra, Jerod Merkle, & Susanne Hinrichs join the lab

Terri is conducting her Masters' Thesis on the effects of ectoparasites on growth and mortality of nestlings and the evolution of bird defenses. Susanne is researching differential allocation in relation to sexual selection and is generally interested in evolution of animal communication. Jerod is interested in the evolution and ecology of paternal care and investigates the evolution of indicators of parental performance in birds.

Rosetta Mui, 2003 EEB Outstanding Senior, has been awarded UK Research Council Foreign Scholar Award of £22,500 to conduct her doctoral research in avian biology at Cardiff University.

Renee Duckworth receives two research grants: Animal Behavior Society and American Museum of Natural History

Renee Duckworth has been awarded research grants from the American Museum of Natural History ($1,700) and Animal Behavior Society ($500) to conduct her studies on the evolution of life histories in coexisting species of Sialia bluebirds.

Joanna Hubbard was nominated a Science Ambassador for the College of Science. She was awarded this title and will serve until her graduation in May 2004.

Rosetta Mui is awarded the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department's Outstanding Senior Award!!

Rosetta Mui was awarded EEB Outstanding Senior Award at the Winter Commencement. She received her degree in a record 2.5 years.

Rosetta Mui has been selected by NSF to present her research in the Undergraduate Symposium at the 2003 Evolution Meetings in Chico CA. She will present her work on evolution of maternal effects in birds.
